The Paris Air Show is organized every two years by SIAE, a subsidiary of GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industries Association. It is the world's largest and most important event for the aviation and aerospace industry. The week-long program reserves the Show's first four days exclusively for trade visitors, while its last three days are open to the general public.
ASI is attending the Show with a delegation headed by its President Teodoro Valente. "Space to our dreams", the Agency's stand, is located in Hall 1-G 278.
June 19 - Inauguration
Two institutional visits to ASI 's stand marked the beginning of the Show's week. Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli were received by ASI President Valente, who then met with Leonardo CEO Roberto Cingolani and President Stefano Pontecorvo at the company's business chalet. ASI president met with the CEO of Thales Alenia Space Italia, Massimo Comparini, at the Thales Pavilion.
In the afternoon, ASI President Teodoro Valente had a meeting with Josef Aschbacher, Director General of the European Space Agency, to discuss ongoing and future projects.
Towards the end of the day, Italian ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti paid a visit to the Asi stand.
A busy agenda for the second day of the Paris Air Show. In the morning, ASI President Teodoro Valente met with a delegation of the Apulia Region composed of Councillor for Economic Development Alessandro Delli Noci, the Director of the Economic Development Department, Gianna Elisa Berlingerio, and the Director of Support Policies and Innovation, Vito Bavaro. Subsequently, President Valente participated in a meeting with the Lazio Region delegation. His agenda also included a meeting with the representatives of the United Arab Emirates Space Agency (UAESA) headed by deputy director general, Ibrahim Al Qasim. Immediately afterward, Teodoro Valente attended "Revolution in space: Europe's new ambitions for space exploration", a conference organized by ESA and CNES. ASI President participated in the event together with ESA director general Josef Aschbacher, CNES CEO Philippe Baptiste, DLR president Walther Pelzer, and astronauts Samantha Cristoforetti, Matthias Maurer and Thomas Pesquet.
