The following images are based on an L2D product and depict the area surrounding Palermo (Sicily) in February 2022, as imaged by the PRISMA hyperspectral satellite of ASI. 

The leftmost image is for a band in the visible part of the spectrum (near the red) and it clearly shows the port of Palermo, one of the major passenger ports in the Mediterranean, and the hills enclosing the main urban complex.

The rightmost image is instead for a band in the shortwave infrared, and as such it is more sensitive to the presence of high and thin clouds obscuring the ground.

 The attached animation shows the sequence of all the PRISMA bands, from the visible to the shortwave infrared, where the brightness is proportional to the intensity of the sensed radiation.
