
Teodoro Valente is an expert in polymeric and composite materials and nanotechnology. ASI's new president has a long-standing experience in the academic sector. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from 'Sapienza' Università di Roma, where he also served as a Full Professor of Materials Science and Technology and Deputy Rector. He also held the position of president of the National Interuniversity Consortium of Materials Science and Technology (INSTM), to which 46 Italian universities are affiliated. Teodoro Valente also served as director of the Institute for Polymers, Composites, and Biomaterials (IPCB) at Italy’s National Research Council – CNR, and worked in the Research and Development Directorate of the EU Commission and in the private sector.
