This picture, acquired by PRISMA on December 10th 2021, shows the status of Antarctica’s ice reservoir in proximity of Ross Ice Shelf, approaching Southern Summer solstice.
The pictured zone is about half-way from Italian Mario Zucchelli station of PNRA, and US McMurdo station of USAP.
The L2D product, processed and pansharpened in the visible spectrum (red, green and blue bands) shows the ice plate on the left (i.e. western) side, and some icebergs drifting in the Ross Sea on the eastern side.
The captured scene extends for about 28 km in the west-east direction, while it spans for about 16 km in the north-south direction.
