Luca Vincenzo Maria Salamone, the Italian Space Agency's new Director General, took office today. He will remain in office for the next four years. The appointment was approved by the Agency's Board of Directors last Oct. 10 pursuant to Article 11, paragraph 2 bis, of Legislative Decree No. 128 of June 4, 2003, as subsequent amendments. Born in Catania in 1972, Salamone graduated in Law and Political Science and has a PhD in Public Law. The author of numerous publications on legal topics, the new Director General is a State Executive and a former senior officer in the Italian Navy. He has held numerous positions in Public Administrations and various ministerial offices.
