The Italian Space Agency (ASI), the French Space Agency (CNES) and the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich (UniBW) are committed to cooperating for ”SpaceFounders”, the European New Space accelerator launched in 2021 by CNES with UniBw

The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), CNES and the University of Bundeswehr Munich (UniBW), is to promote and to support the European Space-Tech program “SpaceFounders” focused on supporting the start-ups’ through high-level training, business coaching and investment networking.

For the first time in Italy, took place the third Demo Day event of “SpaceFounders”, organized in Rome, wich allowed 10 start-ups selected by the program to present their projects to an audience of investors and high-level professionals, which was also attended by experts from ASI, CNES, the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Innovation Council (EIC) and from Industrial Partners Thales Alenia Space, Beyond Gravity and Airbus.

The objectives of the cooperation are to improve the European space startups ability to achieve sustained commercial growth by implementing the Acceleration Program in order to strengthen startups’ business development and go-to-market activities through business coaching; improve startups’ access to financing through investment networking; strengthen startups’ networks to other European markets and larger companies and European institutions through mentoring.

The main areas of interest are space research, satellite and rocket technology, terrestrial space applications such as communications, navigation and Earth observation.

ASI, CNES and UniBW will use their best effort to actively promote the acceleration program and contribute to the scouting for high potential start-ups, co-organize networking events with experts in the space domain, investors and experienced entrepreneurs.
