02 December 2022

This panel shows the island of Key West in Florida (USA) as acquired by PRISMA in December 2020. The left image is a composite in the red, green and blue bands, while the right image is obtained from an infrared channel.

The city is located in the southernmost area of the contiguous US, and is connected through state route 1, which is more apparent in the image in the shortwave infrared band.

The city is famous for hosting historical residences and the Naval Air Station, which can be identified near the center of the image from its long runways.

From the infrared image it is easier to identify several small islands emerging above the sea level in the northern basins.
