The decision was reached by ESA during the Council meeting held in Paris on 16 and 17 March, in which the impacts of the war in Ukraine on the Agency's programs were assessed.

In summary, the measures taken:

- Suspension of the ExoMars  rover mission, which was scheduled to launch in the autumn of 2022;

- Put on hold of all missions scheduled for launch by Soyuz from the European spaceport of Korou;

- Continuation of the International Space Station Programme.

Specific proposals will be submitted for the approval of the Member States to an extraordinary ESA Council which will be convened in the coming weeks.
