Italy and Canada team up on the peaceful uses and exploration of outer space. The president of Italian Space Agency (ASI), Giorgio Saccoccia, and the president of Canadian Space Agency (CSA), Lisa Campbell, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding during one of the bilateral meetings at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Dubai.

The purpose of the understating is to establish a framework for cooperation between the Participants to promote and organize the exchange of information and expertise, as well as cooperative activities, in the areas of research and development, academic exchange, and industry collaboration in the space sector.

The main cooperative activities between the Canadian space sector and the Italian space sector will cover space science, technology and application areas, Earth and space observation technologies, space exploration systems, and joint missions and educational activities.
