Canaries eruption: PRISMA is monitoring the new lava front

20 October 2021

Cumbre Vieja volcano eruption imaged by PRISMA on 9 and 15 October 2021 to monitor the lava flow. SWIR-VNIR false color composite outline eruption features: bright yellow-orange pixels represents hot lava flows and bright green pixels within the lava flow are related to saturated signal. Darker cooling lava flows are clearly visibile. Clouds appear whitish in the images, while the plume is dark brown.
