This Space Shuttle Programme space mission took place between July 31st and August 8th, 1992. It was the first space mission involving an Italian astronaut, Franco Malerba. The main goal of the mission was the deployment of EURECA (European Retrievable Carrier) by the European Space Agency and the NASA/ASI Tethered Satellite System (TSS) experiment.
