The images are obtained from an acquisition of the PRISMA satellite over the area of Port-au-Prince, capital of the state of Haiti. The city of Port-au-Prince occupies the western portion in this acquisition, and the port area of Cité Soleil is recognised. Sadly known for its political instability, its capital is still the scene of violence. The difficult economic and social situation was further aggravated following the violent seventh-grade earthquake in 2010.
