The protocol is intended to promote national excellence in technologies applied to the space and aerospace industries, enhancing our country&#8217;s high standard of competitiveness in this sector. The Italian Space Agency will promote academic and cultural exchanges at Expo 2025 Osaka, strengthening its partnership with Japan and particularly focusing on space activities.\r\n\r\nCoordinated by the ASI, it will ensure full involvement of the Italian Space System, consisting of research organisations, companies and start-ups. The aim is to support internationalisation and attract investors. &#8220;Italy steps into the global scene of Expo with a significant wealth of knowledge and achievements in the aerospace industry,&#8221; said Ambassador <strong>Mario Vattani<\/strong>, Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka. &#8220;The partnership with ASI &#8211; Italian Space Agency &#8211; is a valuable opportunity to highlight the advanced level of our technology. We present ourselves as an interlocutor of excellence to our international partners, highlighting active projects launched in Europe, internationally and with Japan.&#8221;\r\n\r\n&#8220;The signing of the protocol confirms the highly significant role of space in the international diplomatic scene. Above all, it underscores the unparalleled spin-offs the sector&#8217;s activities contribute to everyday life,&#8221; said the president of the Italian Space Agency,<strong> Teodoro Valente<\/strong>. At the Osaka Expo, the ASI will promote the presence of Italian players in the space sector during the event, supporting companies, SMEs and start-ups that will, therefore, be able to enter leading international markets, including the Asian ones. The signing of this protocol is also highly significant for the many partnerships between Italy and Japan, also in the space industry, which witnesses the two agencies, ASI and Jaxa, already linked by a long and fruitful strategic partnership that will be strengthened by attending the 2025 event. I wish to thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and, particularly, the Commissioner General for Italian participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Ambassador Mario Andrea Vattani, for this important opportunity.&#8221;\r\n\r\nSeminars, workshops and a multimedia exhibition will enlarge on Italy\u2019s role of excellence in observations of both Earth and the Universe, as well as in space exploration. In this regard, Italy is participating in international missions such as NASA&#8217;s Artemis, in collaboration with the Japan Space Agency (JAXA), for the return to the Moon, and project Mars Ice Mapper to map ice on Mars. These projects, along with space surveillance and tracking, highlight the strength of the bond between Italy and Japan in global scientific and technological development. Expo 2025 will be held in Osaka from 13 April to 13 October 2025 with the theme \u201cDesigning Future Societies for Our Lives\u201d.
