{"id":42335,"date":"2023-06-14T15:33:04","date_gmt":"2023-06-14T13:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asi.it\/?p=42335"},"modified":"2023-06-27T13:36:51","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T11:36:51","slug":"teodoro-valente-is-the-new-president-of-the-italian-space-agency-asi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asi.it\/en\/2023\/06\/teodoro-valente-is-the-new-president-of-the-italian-space-agency-asi\/","title":{"rendered":"Teodoro Valente is the new president of the Italian Space Agency (ASI)"},"content":{"rendered":"Following the appointment of its new president, the Italian Space Agency (ASI) has also designated a new Board of Directors\r\n\r\n<!--more-->\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Teodoro Valente<\/strong>, the Italian Space Agency\u2019s new president, has taken office at the Agency&#8217;s headquarters in Rome.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Valente\u2019s designation was recently proposed and confirmed by the Interministerial Committee for Space and Aerospace Policies\u00a0(Comint), chaired by Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An expert in polymeric and composite materials and nanotechnology, Teodoro Valente took over from Giorgio Saccoccia who served as the Agency\u2019s president for four years until early May.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ASI&#8217;s new president has a long experience in the academic sector. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Sapienza Universit\u00e0 di Roma, where he also served for several years as a Full professor of Materials Science and Technology and Deputy Rector.
