Leonardo was remembered, among other things, as the father of technology, dream of flight and astrophysics. The event was attended by the Ministers of Culture and Health of the County of Kilifi, <strong>Maureen Mwangovyae<\/strong>, <strong>Anisa Omar<\/strong>, and the Office Manager Broglio Space Center Malindi, <strong>Francesco Dominici<\/strong>. The ASI Manager on duty at the <strong>Broglio Space Center<\/strong> in Malindi, <strong>Maria Girolamo Daraio<\/strong>, illustrated the <strong>IKUNS<\/strong> (<strong>Kenyan Italian Nanosatellite University<\/strong>) project as a virtuous example of <strong>Italo-Kenyan cooperation<\/strong> in the space sector.\r\n\r\n<strong>IKUNS project<\/strong> was coordinated by <strong>ASI<\/strong> with the support of the <strong>Kenya Space Agency<\/strong> and it was jointly developed by <strong>University of Nairobi<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cLa Sapienza&#8221; University<\/strong> of Rome, with the aim to develop a<strong> CubeSat<\/strong> for <strong>Earth Observation<\/strong> and to pursue<strong> training and educational goals<\/strong>. It is part of the projects that <strong>ASI<\/strong> and <strong>&#8220;La Sapienza&#8221;<\/strong> started in 2015 in the framework of the <strong>agreement<\/strong> for the<strong> management and activities development<\/strong> \u00a0at the <strong>Broglio Space Center<\/strong> of Malindi.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/1kuns-pf.ns0.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>1KUNS-PF<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(<strong>1<\/strong>st <strong>K<\/strong>enya <strong>U<\/strong>niversity<strong> N<\/strong>ano-<strong>S<\/strong>atellite \u2013<strong> P<\/strong>recursor <strong>F<\/strong>light) was the first <strong>CubeSat<\/strong> developed by the University of Nairobi with the technical support of <strong>&#8220;La Sapienza&#8221;<\/strong> University of Rome. It has been proposed by <strong>Nairobi University<\/strong> and selected by the <strong>Japanese Space Agency<\/strong> (JAXA) and the <strong>United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs<\/strong> (UNOOSA) to be launched by the Japanese <strong>\u201cKibo\u201d<\/strong> module of the <strong>International Space Station<\/strong> (ISS), in the framework of the \u201cKiboCube\u201d program, devoted to <strong>emerging countries<\/strong>. The CubeSat has been deployed from the <strong>ISS<\/strong> on <strong>11th May 2018<\/strong> and it is operational capturing interesting pictures of the Earth surface. The CubeSat hosts two commercial low-cost cameras taking low-resolution image of the Earth; it is also aimed at testing commercial technology in
