{"id":18909,"date":"2020-10-07T15:44:42","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T13:44:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asi.it\/?p=18909"},"modified":"2020-10-08T10:03:28","modified_gmt":"2020-10-08T08:03:28","slug":"1st-space-economy-leaders-meeting-space20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asi.it\/en\/2020\/10\/1st-space-economy-leaders-meeting-space20\/","title":{"rendered":"1st Space Economy Leaders Meeting &#8211; Space20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Italian Space Agency (ASI) to host the 2nd Space Economy Leaders Meeting in 2021<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 7 October 2020 &#8211; The Saudi Space Commission (SSC) organized the first meeting of the Heads of Agency of the G20 countries, hosted by the Saudi Secretariat of the G20, entitled <strong><em>Space Economy Leader Meeting &#8211; 20<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting focused on the importance of the space economy and its contribution to the global economy, and stability, to the promotion of cooperation, in particular, space collaboration for peaceful purposes.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to the space agencies of the G20 countries, the <strong>United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs<\/strong> (UNOOSA), the <strong>Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development<\/strong> (OECD) and the <strong>European Union<\/strong> (EU) took part in the event.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), <strong>Giorgio Saccoccia<\/strong>, in his statement recalled the importance of <strong>space economy<\/strong> as a driver of global economy and confirmed that ASI will continue the work carried out in last months to ensure that Space is included in the agenda of the G20 Heads of State and Government.
