ILRS Technical Workshop

Matera, 26 – 30 October

The cultural center “Casa Cava” in Matera hosts in its auditorium the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) Technical Workshop, from 26 to 30 October.

The ILRS provides global satellite and lunar laser ranging data and their related products to support geodetic and geophysical research activities. The service develops the necessary global standards/specifications and encourages international adherence to its conventions.

The ASI Space Geodesy Center in Matera is an ILRS basic crux, both as a satellite and lunar station for observations and as a center for data analysis.

The Matera Laser Ranging Observatory (MLRO) is one of the most precise and fruitful stations in the global network. Since 2004 the ASI Space Geodesy Center has been appointed as an ILRS Primary Combination Center, with the task to create and distribute all the official ILRS products every day.

The workshop (please click here to read the agenda) is particularly focused on network performance and GNSS tracking. It consists of interactive sessions, conceived to share information on new laser ranging applications.
