1st CSES Satellite Workshop

A cooperation between CNSA and ASI for an Earth Observation mission - The event will be held in Beijing from 13 to 16 November 2014

CSES (China Seismo-Electromagnetism Satellite) is the first space-based platform of Chinese earthquake monitoring system, funded by the CNSA (China National Space Administration).

An important memorandum of understanding was signed in 2013 by the Italian Space Agency and the CNSA to initiate a collaboration in this particular research field, which sees Italy at the cutting edge.

The National Institute of Nuclear Physics is the ASI main partner in the cooperation ASI – CNSA.  Other Italian research institutes and universities are involved in this programme: INAF-IAPS, University of Trento, Telematic University UniNettuno and INGV.

The first workshop focused on the CSES Satellite will be held in Beijing, from 13 to 16 November 2014. The main objectives of this workshop are to present the new achievements and key technical issues for space and ground segments of CSES and to exchange the latest advances in research of ionospheric perturbations.
