European Researchers’ Night

Since 2005, the European Researchers' Night takes place every year all over Europe the last Friday of September. In 2014 the Night, promoted by the European Commission, will be held on Friday 26 September.

Night events, such as shows, laboratories, exhibitions, guided visits and conferences, are dedicated to popular science and fun learning. They are an opportunity to meet researchers and to find out what they really do for society.

In Italy the European Researchers’ Night will involve 11 cities: Roma, Frascati, Trieste, Bologna, Milano, Ferrara, Catania, Bari, Cagliari, Pavia e Pisa. “Sustainable development” will be the main Night theme.

The event will also be attended by the Italian Space Agency and the IAPS (Institute for Space Astrophysics and Planetology), an Instiute within INAF (National Institute for Astrophysics). Both the institutions will jointy organize scientific activities for a large audience, such as students, families and children. The event will be held on 26 September 2014 at ASI headquarters, from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.
