To honour the memory of the crew of the STS-107 Mission and in particular, the first Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon, the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology, the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies and the Israeli Space Agency (ISA) organize an annual conference on space research. The next and 11th edition of the event will be held in Herzlia from 2nd to 3rd February 2016.
Some of the main topics that will be discussed during the conference concern the international cooperation, exploration, security, strategies and space policies, the involvement of the industry and the economic aspects of space.
The event will also be attended by the Italian Space Agency, represented by its president Roberto Battiston, who will take part in the “The Future of space” session, dedicated to space agencies perspectives.
ASI delegation, led by president, will also include Gabriella Arrigo (International Relations Unit Head), Roberto Formaro (Technologies and Engineering Unit Head) and Giancarlo Varacalli (Technologies and Engineering Unit).
The two-day event in Herzlia awaits an international audience including among the speakers dignitaries of excellence, such as Simonetta Di Pippo, UNOOSA (United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs) Director and the astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti.
