"Mission X: Train like an astronaut"

Educational project for pupils aged between 8 and 12

A new edition of "Mission X - Train Like an Astronaut" is about to start again. Mission X is an international educational project designed to communicate to young people between 8 and 12 years the importance of exercise and proper nutrition.

After the success of the first two editions, the Italian Space Agency, Italian coordinator of the project, in collaboration with ALTEC, launches a new mission, whose goal is "to be in good shape".

Mission X is focused on fitness and nutrition because we know that a healthy body is necessary to be a “Fit Explorer!” The project is also designed to challenge students to be more physically active and to teach how health and fitness plays an important role in human performance in space and on Earth.

Astronauts know the vital importance of physical training for mission success, and we are excited for kids all over the world to learn from them - for life success.

Teams of students will learn principles of healthy eating and exercise, compete for points by finishing training modules, and get excited about the world's future in space and the educational possibilities for their own future. Students will practice scientific reasoning and teamwork while participating in hands-on training missions targeting strength, endurance, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and more.
